about

The Centre of Space Technologies has been established by a consortium of Technical University of Moldova, academic institutions and some high-tech SMEs in order to take advantage of the benefits of space technologies and applications in Earth observation, meteorology and astrophysics. The RTD activities of CST-TUM are focused on developing of satellite subsystems and ground stations, design, integration and testing of Cubesats by involving in these projects a most of students at different ages and education levels.

In 2018, CST UTM was selected by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) for the fourth round of the KiboCUBE Program for the launch, in 2021, of the TUMnanoSAT nanosatellite from the International Space Station (ISS) with the help of the Japanese experimental module KiboCUBE. Thus, the dedicated collaboration between UNOOSA and JAXA in the use of ISS KiboLancer to launch CubeSat nanosatellites has been extended, with the Technical University of Moldova as a partner.
